June 2008

President’s Podium

Dear Members,

Summer is almost here!!  Soon the kids will be off from school, summer vacation plans are in the works -  I can’t believe how fast this year is going by!  Just the THOUGHT of summer makes me feel more relaxed already!

We still have a few events left before we take a little summer break, so please take some time to join us.  At our General Meeting this month, we will have a Club elections and then workshops.  This club is run solely by volunteers – without them, it would not function.  We need members like you to commit to keeping this organization running strong, offering programs and support for mothers of multiples.  We all came to this club searching for something – a friend, a little support, some encouragement.  Whatever it was that brought you here, please make the time and the effort to give back to the club.  Please consider volunteering for a position on the Board for next year.  It is truly a rewarding experience.  As President for the last 2 years, I have met truly amazing and dedicated women on the board of this club, who give of themselves so effortlessly; it has inspired me to do the same.  I have met so many members, new and old, and shared their experiences with them; it has made my own that much more heartwarming.  I have been so proud to have served this club as President for the past two years, and I can only hope that I leave it a little better than when I came.  Please joins us, there are still some positions that need to be filled.

We all got some “comedy reprieve” at our General Meeting last month, thanks to a lot of laughs from comedian Tim Gage.  What a funny guy!  And everyone had a “Blast From the Past” at our annual Fashion Show Gala!  This was, once again, an amazing and wonderful event!  On behalf of myself and the entire NCMOTC, I want to thank Nicole, Debbie, Julie, and Jen, the Fundraising team, and everyone who helped out on their committee, especially Diana.  All of their hard work paid off with a great night of good fun, good fun, and beautiful baskets and prizes.

Don’t forget, in July we have our Installation Dinner instead of our General Meeting at the Church.  Details are in the newsletter.  Please join us for this special evening as we thank the outgoing board and welcome in the new one for 2008-2009.  And of course, we will announce our much-anticipated Member of the Year.  Don’t forget to vote at our June meeting or contact Lina to cast your vote.

As always, I am here to welcome your suggestions or ideas, and to help you on your journey of raising multiples.  Please feel free to contact me at any time, our club exists for the benefit of its members.  Have a great month!

Twincerely,
