President’s Podium
Dear Members,
Can you believe the summer has come and gone so quickly? It’s back to school
time again, the smell of new pencils, the crunch of leaves under our feet, some
us heading off on the school bus for the first time. So many firsts for our
little multiples – what an exciting time! My own little twins, at 3 ½ years old,
are headed off to nursery school at last, and they are thrilled! Congratulations
to all of you that are sharing this huge milestone with your little ones!
And a new year of NCMOTC lies ahead of us. Just a reminder, annual dues are due
at this time. I hope you can take a break from your busy schedules to join us at
a meeting or event. Whether your multiples are 10 months or 10 years, this club
has something to offer you, and you have something to offer other members. We
have been really missing our alumni MOMS at our meetings and social events, and
we’d love to see you come back. Remember the times when you needed this club and
it was there for you, especially when your twins were little. As our membership
continues to grow, and MOMs of little ones are joining us, they are looking to
you for guidance and support. Come and share with us! And while this multiples
journey changes and some things get easier, there are new challenges around
every corner and our club is here to support you along the way.
Our new Programming team of Mary Grace and Samantha has been hard at work,
planning some exciting events for the months ahead. This month’s General Meeting
will be a program on CPR for children, a necessary skill for all of us to have.
Please invite your family, friends or caretakers to join us at this important
program. October will be our annual Clothing and Equipment Sale, where everyone
is sure to find a bargain! In the months ahead, at our General Meetings, the
small room will be open for anyone who wishes to socialize instead of sitting in
on the program. I especially invite our Alumni MOMs to come out to a meeting and
join us for a chat during this time. If the topic isn’t a hot one for you, I
know we can all use some time away from home with friends!
Don’t forget to mark your calendars for our Family Picnic and Children’s
Halloween Party; details are in your newsletter. Come out with Daddy and the
kids for a fun time! We are still in need of volunteers to chair our Family
Holiday party in December. Please see me or Lina if you are interested in
organizing this favorite event. There are also many wonderful and charitable
events coming up sponsored by Community Outreach. Take the time to help out a
worthy cause, while spending time with your NCMOTC friends.
As we embark on a new year in our club, I have again been contemplating what our
club offers our members and what we can do to make our club the support resource
that we all want and need it to be. Each month at our Board meetings, we will
continue to take on a particular aspect of our organization, to brainstorm new
ideas and discuss suggestions and improvements, to enhance the benefits our club
has to offer. So I invite you to attend a Board meeting, you don’t have to be on
the Board to join us – these meetings are open to everyone. We value your input
and we’d love for you to be part of our discussions and shape the future of
NCMOTC.
Don’t forget, there are still some positions that need to be filled and
opportunities available for you to volunteer. Speak to me or any member of the
Board if you are interested. Many of these positions don’t require a lot of your
time, but are important to the members of our club, and we’d hate to see them
go!
I look forward to meeting and getting to know many of you at our upcoming
meetings and events. Please feel free to introduce yourself, and speak to me at
any time with any suggestions, questions or concerns you may have. I am always
available and am happy to support you. Remember, this club exists for the
support of its members, and we are here for you!!
Twincerely,
Theresa Koubek
