President’s Podium

Dear Members,

April Showers are definitely bringing May flowers – what a beautiful time of year!  And Happy Mothers Day!!!  I hope everyone can enjoy this special day with your children and families.  We deserve to give ourselves a pat on the back for all that we do, each and every day.  We sometimes lose sight, in the daily grind of raising our families, of just how lucky we are to have been blessed with our multiples.  It takes a truly special mom to be a mom of multiples.  This experience is like no other, and it makes us members of a very special group of mothers.  So let’s celebrate our blessings, maybe with a little MOM time – come out to our Comedy Reprieve night at our General Meeting this month, back by popular demand, or enjoy a pedicure, a dinner you don’t have to prepare or clean up, or maybe even a nap on our special day!  Enjoy!!

We all learned some important safety lessons from the program at our General Meeting last month – thank you to Mary Grace and Samantha for a thoughtful program.  Our newer moms got to share and learn during their workshop session as well.  And of course, every family had a blast at our Spring Egg Hunt!  There were hundreds of eggs filled with goodies and treats for our little ones, and it’s always great to see our families spending time together with other multiples’ families.  Thank you to our fantastic party team of Cathy, Lina and Mary Grace!

Coming up this moth is our Annual Fashion Show Extravaganza – with a Blast From the Past!  Bring your family and friends to this elegant ladies night.  There will be a delicious dinner at the Chateau Briand, fabulous fashions modeled by our own members and beautiful baskets and prizes to win!  Our Fundraising team of Nicole, Debbie, Julie and Jen have been working very hard all year long for this amazing event, and as the date draws near, we still need your help.  Please contact them to volunteer a few hours of your time before or during the Fashion Show.  We need all hands on deck for this important event.  Details are in the Twin-Sphere.

And as we move into June, club elections are coming up.  This club is run solely by volunteers – without them, it would not function.  We need members like you to commit to keeping this organization running strong, offering programs and support for mothers of multiples.  We all came to this club searching for something – a friend, a little support, some encouragement.  Whatever it was that brought you here, please make the time and the effort to give back to the club.  Please consider volunteering for a position on the Board for next year.  Many of us are coming to the end of our two-year terms in our positions.  No experience is necessary.  Look at me – I joined this club in 2004, became a newsletter editor in 2005 and President in 2006, while working a full time job as an attorney and raising a family with twins, and it has been such a blast!  Believe me, if I can do it, so can you!  It has been such a rewarding experience for me, one that I can’t even put into words.  I have met truly amazing and dedicated women on the board of this club, who give of themselves so effortlessly; it has inspired me to do the same.  I have met so many members, new and old, and shared their experiences with them; it has made my own that much more heartwarming.  I have been so proud to have served this club as President for the past two years, and I can only hope that I leave it a little better than when I came.  Please joins us, it is more rewarding that you can imagine.

Details on all the positions are in this newsletter.  Feel free to contact me or anyone on the Board if you have any questions.

As always, I am here to welcome your suggestions or ideas, and to help you on your journey of raising multiples.  Please feel free to contact me at any time, our club exists for the benefit of its members.  Have a great month!

Twincerely,
