President’s Podium

Dear Members,

Are you feeling the winter doldrums setting in?  Fluctuating weather, the warmth of Spring seems so far away.  This time of year can get you down, but it’s just the time to turn to your NCMOTC friends for a pick-me-up!  We have a lot of great activities in the works.  I hope you will make some time to join us, at a meeting, an event for our wonderful children, or some “Moms only” time.  We have not seen so many of you in while – you know who you are.  Maybe you came to a couple of meetings or an event, but then life got in the way and you dropped off for a while.  Make the time to get back to our club, trust me, it’s worth it.  This club needs you now as much as you needed it when you decided to join.  Something brought you to our door, looking for friendship and support and this club helped you when you needed it most.  New members are walking into every meeting, and now it’s your turn to give back.  New MOMs are looking for you, to share your wisdom and experience and tips for sheer day-to-day survival.  We hope to see you again soon.   There are so many ways to be involved in our fantastic club, and giving of your time can be very rewarding. 

Before you know it, club elections will be here in June.  Please consider volunteering for a position on the Board for next year.  Many of us are coming to the end of our two-year terms in our positions..  I hope many of you will make the commitment to keep our organization running strong.  Without you, this club can’t function.  Please contact me if you are interested or have any questions about what a position on the Board involves.  Many take minimal time, but give maximum rewards to everyone.

We have some great events coming up: Join us at our General Meeting this month for our fabulous Spring Clothing and Equipment Sale, where there are always bargains for everyone!  Get away for an hour or two for a cup of coffee and some quality chat time at a Moms Night Out or Alumni Moms Night Out this month.  Next month, join us for our book club night for some interesting discussions about a book written by identical twins separated at birth.  Bring your children to our fantastic Spring Egg Hunt, sure to be another huge success with our newest party team of Mary Grace, Lina and Cathy.  Details on all these events are on the newsletter.

 And don’t forget to mark your calendars – the 2008 Fashion Show is coming up in May, and we need your help!!  This is a huge project for our club, and there are many ways for everyone to pitch in and lend a hand - solicit some donations, wrap some baskets, maybe even be a runway model!  We really need everyone’s participation to make this event the best ever!  This event is our major fundraiser to sustain this club’s operations and every member is expected to support it.  Contact Fundraising to join the Fashion Show Committee, details are in the newsletter.  There will be fun and prizes for all!  Save the date, and invite your family and friends for a wonderful evening.
