June 2007

Dear Members,

Can you believe that summer is around the corner, another school year has come and gone?  I registered my twins, Andrew and Jack, for nursery school – I can’t believe that they are 3 years old already!  Time just goes by too fast, we have to remind ourselves to take a minute to enjoy the moments.  Before you know it, club elections will be here at our General Meeting this month.  Please consider volunteering for a position on the Board.  Our wonderful club is run by all volunteers, who give of their time for the good of the club.  We could not exist, have great monthly programs and wonderful parties and social events for everyone to enjoy, if dedicated members like each of you didn’t pitch in and give of your time.

There are many ways to be involved, and we have a lot of openings available for next year’s Board.  You may be thinking that you have no experience, haven’t been a member long enough or have no time to volunteer.  I’m here to tell you, there is no experience necessary, it makes no difference if you have been a member for 2 years or 2 months, and many positions take minimal time but give maximum rewards.  I hope you will review the list in the newsletter and see where there are spots for you to get involved.  Please contact me if you are interested or have any questions about what a position on the Board involves.  I hope many of you will make the commitment to keep our organization running strong.

Our General Meeting this month cannot close until all elected positions are filled.  Please stay to join us for workshops – the small group chats that we all crave!  Then mark your calendars for the Installation dinner in July, remember in lieu of our general meeting.  Details are in this newsletter for this evening of delicious food and good company, to celebrate our new and old NCMOTC Board members, as well as honor our newest Member of the Year for 2007.

And of course, last month we hosted our annual Fashion Show Gala, “Signature Style 2007.”  A huge congratulations and THANK YOU goes out to our Fundraising Ladies, particularly Nicole Ponce and Nancy Cucchiara who coordinated this wonderful event.  A special thank you to Nancy and her family for “hosting” the baskets in their home again this year.  Thank you to all who volunteered on the Fashion Show Committee - soliciting, wrapping, modeling, coordinating ads, tickets, raffle

sales – this event would not have been possible without all of these “extra hands” joining in to make a fantastic evening.  I know many of you brought family and friends as well – I hope everyone had a great time and we’d love to see you again next year!

As summer draws near, we have some fun events planned for the lazy hazy days – join us for an Out and About, a Mom’s Night Out or our newly revived Book Club; details are in the newsletter for all these great events.  Make the time to stay connected with your club, we are here for you, for support and encouragement, and for making lasting friendships on this “multiples” journey.

And this month, as we celebrate Father’s Day, remember to take a moment to tell the special “Dad” in your life how much you appreciate him.  I know I would not have survived these last 3 years without the love and support of my wonderful husband, Rob.  He has been my strength and my rock, and he is the best Daddy that Andrew and Jack could ask for.  (We love you honey!)  Happy Father’s Day to all the Dads of Multiples out there!

As always, I am here to welcome your suggestions or ideas, and to help you on your journey of raising multiples.  Please feel free to contact me at any time, our club exists for the benefit of its members.

Twincerely,

Theresa Koubek
