President’s Podium
Dear Members,
Happy Summer! I hope everyone is staying cool and enjoying some fun in the sun, now that school is out and vacation plans are under way.
This is a bittersweet time for me, as I come to the end of my two years as President of NCMOTC. This club means the world to me, as many of you know. Anyone who knows me has heard me tell the story of my first meeting, now 4 years ago, when my twins were only a few months old. My husband, Rob, had finally convinced me to come to a meeting. I showed up, exhausted, hair unwashed for the last 3 days, desperate for some understanding and support. What I got turned out to be a lifeline for me. I received encouragement and advice, guidance and strength, and some of the best friendships I will ever make in a lifetime. I hope many of you feel the same.
Joining the board a year later was one of the best things I ever did. Taking on the position of President gave me the opportunity to give back so much to the club that had given so much to me. I also got the chance to work alongside the most giving and dedicated women who volunteered their time to be on the Board and do so much for this wonderful organization. I give my heartfelt thanks to every one of them for all that they have done and for all the support they offered me. I know that our time is precious, and anything we do out side of our homes takes time away from our families. Thank you to each of you and your families for the sacrifices you have made. Of course, I also have to thank my husband Rob and my twins Andrew and Jack for their patience and support every time Mommy had to leave to go to ANOTHER meeting!
On behalf of the entire club, I want to thank everyone who served on the board for this past year. I know that each of you have put your heart into everything you did, and it showed, and we appreciate it. For those of you who are not continuing on the Board, you will be missed, but please don’t disappear! This club needs your experience and your input. Rest assured, you will still see me at meetings and events! For those of you who are continuing on in Board positions, I wish you good luck and I am excited to see all that you have planned. I especially want to thank and congratulate Mary Grace, who will be our new President. She was a constant source of encouragement and support for me these past 2 years and I know she will do a fabulous job as our new leader!
I hope that you will join us at our Installation Dinner, in lieu of our General Meeting this month. Please join us for a delicious meal and a night of good company as we thank the outgoing Board and welcome in the new one. Details are in the newsletter. Our regular meetings will resume again in August, and I am sure our new Programming team of Colleen and Lina has great things in store for us!
Enjoy your summer!!
Twincerely,
Theresa Koubek
