President’s Podium

Dear Members,

Happy Valentine’s Day!  Love is in the air!  I hope you all can steal a few precious moments to spend with your special someones this month.  Romance sometimes gets forgotten in the day to day dealing with multiples-rearing (believe me, I know!), but it’s so important to keep that connection – happy parents make for happy children!  We have a lot to look forward to in the months ahead, so get your day planners ready!

Everyone enjoyed a little R&R with a cup of joe at our January Hot Cocoa Social.  It’s always good to come out and chat with other MOMs, sharing stories and experiences of this crazy multiples’ journey.  Join us this month for a very informative program, “Keys to Dealing with Bullies” with the McNamara’s.  At some point, we could all be confronted with this tough issue and this program will give you the tools you need to cope with this difficult time.  I really hope to see some of our Alumni MOMS come out for this program, maybe even to share their words of wisdom on this hot topic.  Then next month, we will hold our fabulous Clothing and Equipment Sale - come one, come all for great bargains!

As we look forward to Spring, keep in mind that the 2008 Fashion Show is coming!  This is our biggest project of the year and our major fundraiser to sustain this club’s operations.  WE NEED YOUR HELP!  Every member is expected to bring in a donation, so make sure you have copies of our solicitation letter, which is available on our website.  There are many ways to get involved and pitch in – solicit some donations, wrap some baskets, we have something for everyone to do.  Contact Fundraising to join the Fashion Show Committee.  Our Fundraising Ladies will be pulling out all the stops to make this year’s big event a fantastic night of fun and prizes for all!

Be sure to check out our new and improving website at www.ncmotc.org.  We have added many great features and are always looking for suggestions as to what you would like to see on our site.  Our club email system is also up and running, please check you spam folders to make sure you receive these emails filled with club events and announcements. 

Don’t forget to mark your calendars for the 2008 State Convention in Saratoga this April!  Details and registration packets are now available.  I hope many of you will join us for a fun weekend away.

And it’s never too early to start thinking about taking on a club position: elections will be coming up in June.  There will be many openings on nest year’s Board as a lot of us come to the end of our 2 year terms.  Please consider volunteering, to give back to the club from which you have taken so much support.
