December 2007
President’s Podium
Dear Members,
Happy Holidays to you all!! This is such a beautiful time of year, the hustle and bustle of holiday shopping, cooking and cleaning, and holiday celebrations, spending precious time with family and friends. I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving as well. Take some time to enjoy the little quiet moments with you little ones, we all know how time passes us by so quickly. I hope you take the time as well to join us at NCMOTC for some special Holiday events this month.
Everyone enjoyed the presentation on Allergy Awareness at our General Meeting last month. This is such an important topic that will touch all our lives at some point, whether we realize it now or not. Thanks to our Programming ladies for planning such an insightful program for us. In November we were also able to distribute much needed Thanksgiving baskets to our Helping Hands families. Thank you for your generosity to all those who contributed.
Please join us at our Holiday Dinner this month, in lieu of our General Meeting. Enjoy a change of scenery from our usual monthly Tuesday gathering, as we share a good meal with good friends at the Maine Maid Inn. Please bring your spouse or significant other for a special night out, as we slow down from the holiday rush for a night. Details are in this newsletter. Our newest party team of Mary Grace and Michele has been busy planning our Children’s Holiday Party this month. Come with your little ones and join us for a fun-filled afternoon at the Church, where we will be joined by a surprise guest from up North! Details are also in this newsletter.
Before you know it, 2008 will be upon us. As we ponder our New Year’s Resolutions (you know, we all make them and then sometimes break them), let’s think about what’s most important in our lives. What can we do to be the best we can be to our families, our friends and our club? So many of you gave from the heart this past year - to our club, its members, our families in need and our communities. I myself am so touched by what you all did and gave, I am truly honored to be president of a club with members like you. I know this will continue into the New Year!
From my family to yours, I wish you a blessed and joyous Holiday Season and a Happy New Year!
Twincerely,
Theresa Koubek
