August 2007

Dear Members,

I want to start by saying how excited I am to embark on another year as club President!  There is a lot of energy and enthusiasm in this new Board and I want to thank everyone who has volunteered for a position for this upcoming year.    I also want to express my gratitude for those who have volunteered so much of their time over the years.  Our club relies on women who give so much of their time and of themselves for the good of all of us.  I thank each and every one of you.

For those of you that don’t know me well, I have 3 ½ year old fraternal twin boys, I have been a member of our club since 2004.  For the past 2 years, I have been one of your Twin-Sphere editors.  I also work full-time as a practicing attorney.

It was great to see so many members at our Installation Dinner, held at Domenico’s in Levittown last month.  Thank you to our Programming team of Jan and Rose, for all their efforts in planning such a nice evening, and to Nicole and Cheryl for the beautiful and yummy favors!  Huge congratulations to our latest Member of the Year.

Please try to join us at some of our upcoming meetings and events.  The new Board is already hard at work planning lots of exciting things – there is sure to be something for everyone! Sometimes a night out is just what you need to perk up from the lazy hazy days of summer!  This month at our General Meeting, our new Programming ladies will help us beat the heat with a Lemonade Social – come, chat, meet the new Board and learn about what is in store for the next year.  Trust me, this is just what you need, especially if you haven’t made it out to a meeting in a while.  Bring your suggestions and ideas, we would love some feedback.

Next month at our general meeting, we will have instruction on CPR for Infants and Children, given by my husband, who is a certified CPR instructor.  Bring your family, friends, babysitters, anyone who would benefit from this important topic is welcome to join us.  Our new Book Club will also meet in September, we had a great time in July, and we’re looking forward to more readers joining us.

Our Family Summer Picnic will also be held in September, details are inside your Twin-Sphere.  Bring your family and friends for a sun-filled, fun-filled day at the park!  If you would like to volunteer to help out and run a craft or activity at the Picnic, please contact Jodi or Beth.  This is always a great event for the kids!  Details for all these upcoming events are in you newsletter.

Don’t forget, there are still a few positions that need to be filled and opportunities available for you to volunteer.  Speak to me or any member of the Board if you are interested.  We have openings in Out and About, Older Twins and Siblings, and Bars and Badges.  We also need volunteers to organize our Children’s Holiday Party in December. These positions don’t require a lot of your time, but are important to the members of our club, and we’d hate to see them go!

I look forward to meeting and getting to know many of you at our upcoming meetings and events.  Please feel free to introduce yourself, and speak to me at any time with any suggestions, questions or concerns you may have.  All of my contact information is in the newsletter.  I am always available and am happy to support you.  This club exists for the support of its members, and we want to make sure we are addressing your needs.

Let’s have a great year!

Twincerely,

Theresa Koubek
