The Nassau County Mothers of Twins
Club (NCMOTC) is the second largest
MOTC in New York State and the fourth largest in the country. It is
through our active membership and community involvement that we are a
thriving non-profit organization with numerous, valuable activities for
our members.
Annual dues of $27 provide each
member with our monthly newsletter, Twin-Sphere
(containing Club activities and upcoming events, a list of equipment
that members are looking to sell or buy, a list of new members joining
the Club, etc), the National Organization's quarterly Newsletter and
admittance to member functions through out the year.
Our
monthly meetings often include guest speakers, with diverse
topics pertinent to parents of multiples, such as early developmental
intervention, issues of prematurity, handling emergencies, rearing
independent children, etc. We have discussion panels of multiples and
mothers of multiples who share their unique perspectives and answer
questions posed by our members. Workshops are held quarterly at our
meetings whereby members break into discussion groups according to the
age of their children to discuss various parenting issues.
In addition, we provide support on
a more personal level with our Big
Sister/Little Sister program, where we pair up a seasoned mom
with and expectant or new mother for phone support.
As our membership is over 200
members, New Member Socials are held every few months whereby new
members are invited to one of our homes to get acquainted is a smaller
setting.
Our Calendar Of Events also
includes family holiday parties, picnics, a local parade march,
children's craft nights, older twin and siblings events and other family
outings and activities. Our Out and About
Coordinator posts and emails numerous opportunities for
mothers and children to gather about town as well.
Our 2nd Vice-Presidents -
Fundraising do a tremendous job of
coordinating yearly events to cover of many expenses. Our largest
fundraiser is our Annual Fashion Show (don't miss it!).
Our Club is actively
involved in its own charitable work. Our
Community Outreach Program hosts blood drives and fundraisers
to help those in need in Nassau County and even beyond its borders.
Through our confidential Helping Hands Program
we assist mothers with multiples, under age five, who cannot afford dues
by providing complimentary membership, admission to Club events, and
holiday baskets. NCMOTC also donates clothing and equipment twice a
year to the Ethical Friends of Children, a non-profit organization that
distributes to the needy.
Available at our monthly meetings
you will find a wealth of information and convenient services. We have
an extensive, free lending library
of written materials devoted to the birth and care of multiples. Our
Boutique is filled with lovely
discounted gift items for those with or related to multiples. A
Resource Book is on hand with pages
of family services in Nassau County used by our members. A
Welcoming Committee has a table
always filled with promotional giveaways and valuable handouts

children.
Our popular clothing sales occur
